Dennis

Dennis Minaker is a writer of local history, artist and retired nurse. In 1998, he published the book The Gorge of Summers Gone about the Gorge Waterway in Victoria, BC, Canada. He has lived there with his wife, Val, since 1978. He is an active volunteer of the Royal BC Museum and historical tour guide. He has enjoyed boating and swimming along the Gorge for several summers gone.

  1. Just finishing the Gorge of Summers Gone. Love it. Grew up in Vic but left in 1978. Back now living on Murray Dr across from Christie Pt where my grandmother and her sisters and parents camped in the 1900/teens. Daniels family – AJ was harbourmaster/Yarrows, dtr Muriel was swimmer (found pix of her in your book!). They lived on Raynor/VicWest in house AJ built -still there. Are you doing any tours of the Gorge area in the future? So cool to find so many references to things and people I know.
